Custom software with AI, built around your existing tools
A company often needs one missing feature rather than a replacement for all its software. A quote calculator, job tracker or small dashboard can remove repeated work. Boxotron is being developed to create such tools, including extensions around existing software through supported connections.
Plan your first task
Start with the step your current tools do not handle
Write down where someone leaves an application, opens a spreadsheet and copies the same information again. That handoff is a useful place to examine. A standalone tool may be enough; an extension to a CRM may be more practical if the records already live there. The connection must be checked before choosing the approach.
Give the tool a testable brief
For a quote calculator, provide the inputs, pricing rules and examples of the output you expect. Identify who will use it and whether it reads or changes existing records.
- Three ordinary examples with expected answers.
- One incomplete or unusual case.
- The exact action that still needs your approval.
- The export or handover your team needs.
Test with copies before changing live work
Check ordinary inputs, missing information, duplicates and corrections. Compare results with examples you have already approved. Keep customer messages and important record changes behind review during the trial. A tool is useful when your team can complete the real job with it, not simply when a screen looks finished.
Agree the cost and who maintains it
Custom software is separately scoped and quoted, rather than counted as a simple standard workflow. Agree the acceptance criteria, setup, support and what happens when your existing software changes. Discuss source access, exports and handover before commissioning the tool. Extra work should have an agreed price before it starts.
